Happy Stuff

On April 17, 2021 by tita letty's

Today I squealed with glee when I got the packaging for my tapioca. I was SO happy to find eco-friendly packaging in white. It’s all plant-based and compostable, even the window you peek through to see all the happy little boba in there waiting to be put in your homemade bubble tea or ginataang. Even the zipper on it is plant based.

I also got in the mail today (drumroll please), my springform tins. I had to get tin-coated ones online because the only ones I could find locally were all non-stick, and I’m very weary of the chemicals in non-stock. Yeah I bake with a lot of organic ingredients but what’s the use if I have chemicals from my pans leaking into my batter? I also like tin-coated because it bakes very evenly. My brioche tins for my mamon are tin coated and they are my little babies. They are beautiful and I adore them.

I feel like I got something else that I’m forgetting. Oh, yeah! I got Hyperion espresso beans to make my own espresso powder with. I love Hyperion with a deep, unwavering passion. And I’m testing out Farmer’s Creamery whip cream for my mocha frosting. I’ve been using mostly Guernsey. I like Calder for milk because they use glass bottles but their whip cream is in plastic. Sometimes it’s hard to choose between the different local ingredients that are all amazing, so I have to narrow it down by taking a look at the packaging. I would really like to minimize on waste as much as possible.

Peace out ya’ll.
